On Tuesday, May 12, 2009, an induction ceremony was held in the Library at Johnston Middle School to celebrate the accomplishments of 52 seventh graders. These students were selected for the National Junior Honor Society for the 2009-2010 school year based on academic excellence, character and leadership qualifications.
The students who were selected to receive this high honor are Tomas Aisenberg, Odunmorayo Akindoju, Claire Burrus, Taylor Clay, Brian Cohen, Katherine Cox, Dan Dinh, Jeremy Dorsey, Joceylin Duarte, Cierra Duckworth, Ian Estes, Kayla Frand, Kayla Franklin, Lauren Friederman, Madolyn Friedeman, Emily Gittins, Travis Grosscope, John Guttman, Alyssa Jacobs, Caroline Johnson, Matias Kopinsky, Suzana Korac, Stephanie Koren, Jessica Lartigue, Ruth Lavenda, William Levine, Lyla Lyles, Anastasia Markos, Ruth Marshall, Jonathan Maislin, Rachel Massey, Katerina Mayfield, Meghan Miller, Courtney Morgan , Leah Nadel, Juliana Orepo-Orjay, Cameron Osterhaus, Cassie O'Sullivan, Monica Pereira, Stephen Perkyns, Jamie Perry, Linh Phan, James Ragan, Caitlin Rhoades, Lorena Sutherland, Stephen Sydnor, Austin Thomas, Andy Tran, Kyndall Traylor, Christine Vanderwater, Taylor Walker and Jamie Weiser.
The staff and faculty of Johnston Middle School join the National Junior Honor Society sponsors, Ms. Novy, Mrs. Rahbani, Ms. Long and Mrs. McCarty in recognition of the tremendous personal achievement of the above-mentioned students as National Junior Honor Society students for next year.
