The Johnston Middle School advanced orchestra was ranked the second best orchestra in the state of Texas by the Texas Music Educators Association. At the Texas Orchestra Directors Association summer convention, a panel of very distinguished judges listened to the submitted recordings and ranked the 6 finalists and we came in second. This is a great honor for our orchestra and school. The JMS Orchestra, under the direction of Jose Rocha will be recognized at the TMEA convention in February with a plaque.
