On Saturday, September 26, 2009, the Johnston Middle School 7th and 8th grade girls and boys participated in the Westbury Invitational cross country meet. We are proud to announce the results of this competition.

In the two mile run, our seventh grade girls took the top six spots!

1st place   Lydia Tadese                    4th place   Veronica Emina
2nd place    Elizabeth Martinsen         5th place   Rhonda Roberts
3rd place   Shelyn Sibayan                 6th place   Marie Olavere

Leah Nadel, an eighth grader, won 1st place!

Seventh grade boys took:

2nd place   Clayton Crooks          6th place   Ryan Nobles
7th place   Nolan Hines

Eighth grade boys placed as follows:

2nd place   Justin Lane                11th place   Ethan Williform

These are excellent results as there are sometimes as many as 70-80 runners participating in these events in each grade level. We are Johnston Proud of these students and wish them continued success as they go for the gold!
