Johnston swimmers set new records and take home gold!
Congratulations to Danielle Brown for breaking two long standing records at the Zone II Swimming Finals. Danielle broke the 21 year old record set in 1989 in the 200 Freestyle shaving 3 seconds off the time and finishing with an amazing 2:03.2! Then Danielle followed that up by breaking another record set in 1983, taking 2 seconds off the record time, finishing with a 56.32 in the 100 Freestyle! Wow, this girl is made of gold!
The records didn't stop there! Johnston's 8th grade boy's felt the need for speed too, ending the meet with new record in the 200 Free Relay. John Gregg, Austin Thomas, Chase Evans and Daniel Owens took 6 seconds off the previous record finishing with a new record time of 1:51.56! Great work guys!
The Johnston swimmers were all going for the gold at the Zone II Finals. Johnston's 8th grade boy's team placed 1st overall and the 7th and 8th grade girl's teams were a close second in the team standings. The Johnston swimmers took home tons of medals, ribbons and personal best times ending their season in style.
