On Saturday, April 25, several students from Johnston Middle School in HISD attended the festivities at the Japanese Festival. Mrs. Yi French and Mrs. Beth McCarty sponsored the group of 6th, 7th and 8th grade Japanese students. Three of our students performed Sakura, the Cherry Blossom Song, for the opening ceremony  with Julia Klein on the violin, Jullian Lim on the cello, and Savannah Scardaville providing the  vocals. These children received praises all day for their performance. We want to thank Dr. Kathryn Brown, the Head of the Johnston Orchestra department, for helping the orchestra students with the piece. All of the students who attended sang the Japanese National anthem including the following: Mariah Feijo, Julia Klein, Jillian Lim, Jonathan Meekins, Michiko Sharpe, Savannah Scardaville, Christopher Sharpe, and Jose Toscano. We are Johnston Proud of all of our students!
