Johnston art teacher, Ms. Christina Gutierrez and two of her art students were invited by Dr. Fridley-Hereford, Secondary Fine Arts Manager for the Houston Independent School District, for the “State of the Schools” luncheon held on Tuesday, February 17th at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The Museum of Fine Arts is an Art Partner with HISD. Two art students who have won many art awards, Karla Nacionales and James Perry, were chosen to represent Johnston Middle School at the luncheon and sat with representatives from the MFA at the display table, where the students drew various objects from life. We are Johnston Proud of our art department for being selected to attend this prestigious event!
